Inspiring and Sharing Learning & Teaching Excellence at Westminster

Westminster is proud to share rich and diverse examples of our Learning & Teaching practices
The Best Practice Showcase initiative aims to identify, highlight and build upon tried and tested practices that our Best Practice Champions are passionate about sharing. This is a body of practical and ready-to-use examples of successful L&T tasks and activities.
Led by Daphne Vallas, this initiative celebrates and recognises colleagues at all levels. The BPS promotes, broadens and encourages the sharing of successful L&T practices across the institution. Its purpose is to build upon the L&T practices of our colleagues across all disciplines by forming an output from each of our Schools, as well as Professional Services.
The BPS supports Westminster’s commitment to Sustainable Development (SDGs). It offers Open Educational Resources (OERs) to all and allows opportunities to access, re-use, re-purpose, adapt and redistribute.
At its core, the mission of the BPS is to:
- Enhance the student experience by promoting Westminster’s range of pedagogic approaches
- Shine a light on colleagues’ dedication to quality teaching
- Drive peer-to-peer Academic Professional Development
- Balance power dynamics by giving visibility to all colleagues (including those on fractional or hourly contracts)
- Align with the principles of OERs and SDGs
We hope you feel inspired!
