Celebrating Teaching Awards

Staff from across Faculties and Corporate Services joined together on Tuesday 23rd May to celebrate the achievements over the last year of staff teaching and supporting learning at a special event hosted by Professor Roland Dannreuther, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Experience) and attended by the Vice-Chancellor and President Geoff Petts.
Professor Andrew Linn, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities started the event with his own perspective on Lecturing as Performance and the rhetorical tradition.
124 members of staff were formally recognised for their teaching through the award of Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship, Associate Fellowship and Senior Fellowship through the PRESTige scheme, HEA Principal Fellowships, Westminster Teaching Excellence Awards and National Teaching Fellowships.
Colleagues shared their experiences of the different routes and Professor Gunter Saunders PFHEA urged colleagues to ‘think hard about your journey to date in higher education and to find the best way to get that journey recognised.’
