During the summer Westminster was busy with many refurbishment projects to enhance both the colleague and student experience. One of these spaces was the Wells Street Ground floor area, which re-opened on 11 November and now provides more spaces for colleagues to collaborate and engage within.
Here we share the full list of the new spaces available:
New Meeting Rooms
A selection of varied capacity rooms are now available to book. We request colleagues please release any rooms you no longer require, this allows other colleagues to use them and also avoid booking meeting rooms as single office space to ensure full capacity of rooms are available to those needing them.
Collaboration Area
Our ground floor now features a collaboration area that can also be used as a short stay working area, for example for in between meetings. For those wishing to work for longer periods of time there are hot desking workstations available at the rear of the floor, these are situated within the within the Estates Planning and Services and Information Systems Support (ISS) offices. In line with Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assesments it is not advisable to use laptops safely for long periods without a separate monitor, keyboard and mouse, so please make use of the equipment provided within these area’s.
New Coffee Machine
For use for all colleagues this new Coffee machine is installed in the kitchen for your convenience. Also, a dishwasher is available, and we again remind colleagues that loading up the dishwasher is everyone’s responsibility, and our housekeepers will ensure its emptied.
Acoustic Pods
Each floor in Wells Street is now equipped with individual acoustic pods for online meetings. These pods are currently not bookable and are free to use as required, this system maybe reviewed in the future and we always appreciate your feedback to ensure this service meets your needs. Please note that the pods are not designed for longer meeting sessions. We also request that colleagues’ refrain from basing themselves in these areas for long periods of time to ensure that pod areas can be fully utilised to those needing them.
Basement Breakout Room
This space may be used for informal meetings outside lunch hours. We are also organising a book swap corner to encourage socialisation and share you love of books. Any further suggestions for other social activities are welcomed.
We appreciate the patience shown by those colleagues who moved workstations to enable these works to go ahead.
